Hong Kong
Situated on China's south coast and enclosed by the Pearl River Delta and South China Sea, Hong Kong is renowned for its expansive skyline and deep natural harbor.
Hong Kong Island, the heart of Hong Kong, is the center of economy, politics, entertainment and shopping. Two days is usually sufficient for tourists who want to see the main attractions on the island. From the Central District to Causeway Bay in Northern Hong Kong Island is the main commercial, shopping and entertainment area; the residential area is from Tin Hau to Chai Wan on the eastern part of the island; and Southern Hong Kong Island is the recreational area, where visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the sea shore and bays.
Kowloon Peninsula, which links Hong Kong Island to Chinese mainland, is, like the island itself, a center of dynamic center of business and commerce. Allow at least one full day to experience its sparkling delights, including Tsim Sha Tsui, Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kok. The Star Ferry is both inexpensive and romantic. For photographers, a ride on the ferry provides the optimum angle from which to snap fantastic views of the harbor.
Hong Kong is an all-year-round destination. The general climate of Hong Kong is mild, subtropical, and humid. Summers are very humid and warm, with an average daytime temperature of 30 degrees with lots of rain. It is also the cyclone season. Due to this climate, hotel rates are lowest and this may become advantageous to travelers. In winter temperatures drop down to 16 or 18 degrees. It is the driest season in Hong Kong with chilly rains. So the best time to visit the city is October, November, March, and April because these months have temperatures ranging from 20 to 25 degrees and you can also enjoy a little bit rain.
