Saas-Fee is a municipality in the district of Visp in the canton of Valais in Switzerland . Its location close to the glaciers of the Dom and the Allalinhorn provides winter sport opportunities throughout the year, and neighbouring peaks such as the Weissmies, the Nadelhorn and the Lenzspitze are popular climbs in the summer season.

The community is considered to be a very attractive winter sport destination in the Swiss Alps. Typical activities include skiing, carving, snowshoe trekking, canyon climbing and ice climbing. Saas-Fee can be reached by car or bus—buses are running during the day every hour from Brig and Visp.

No cars are allowed to enter the city (they have to be parked in special car parks outside); only small electric vehicles operate on the streets (and some petrol-driven garbage trucks). The resort offers many culture, sports and off-slope activities, including classical music, a sports and leisure complex, restaurants, and nightclubs. The resort features the highest underground funicular railway in the world up to the skiing area and the highest revolving restaurant in the world at 3,500 m (11,500 feet).

The touristic slogan of Saas-Fee is "Die Perle der Alpen" ( The pearl of the Alps ). The campus of the European Graduate School , a graduate school, is located in Saas-Fee. 40% of houses are required to be made of wood, which is why the city often seems to blend in nicely with its surroundings.

There are 3 main ski-areas, Felskinn, Langfluh and Plattjen, 2 areas are interlinked. Care must be taken to keep to marked pistes, owing to hidden crevasses in the glaciers. There are a total of 21 lifts comprising 6 gondolas, 2 chair-lifts and 13 drag-lifts. The main lift is the Alpin Express high-capacity gondola system, which connects to numerous drag-lifts. The nursery slopes are close to the village centre. There is one ski-school, located in the centre of town; English-speaking instructors available. Beginners' classes start on Mondays; no group tuition at weekends. Many cafes and simple restaurants are specializing in traditional fare, such as fondue and raclette. Pizzerias are popular. Most upmarket restaurants tend to be in the 4-star hotels. Possibly the world's highest revolving restaurant (11,510 ft), reached by way of a cable car and the world's highest underground railway. Daytimes the obvious, skiing and snowboarding. Hiking; dog-sledding, cross-country skiing, ice climbing, tubing, skating, curling, paragliding, hang-gliding, and tobogganing. Ice cave. Arguably the world's largest ice pavilion. Well-equipped fitness/sports centre, offering tennis, swimming, solarium, sauna and whirlpool. The village has its own history museum.
